Carbon offsetting update
Posted on Monday, 4 April 2022
In 2009, Thorlux designed an ambitious carbon offsetting scheme in Wales to help compensate for the carbon dioxide (CO₂) released as a result of its manufacturing and selling activities. The planting of 16,000 trees in March 2022 has taken the total number of trees on the site to 165,687, sequestering over 41,000 tonnes of CO₂e over a period of 100 years. The recent planting includes a variety of species such as douglas fir, red cedar, scots pine, oak, cherry, hawthorn, rowan and alder. A further 13,725 trees will be planted by the end of 2023.
